Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 24 August 2026Welcome to SiteHouse ("we"). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website (sitehouse.co.uk) and the web design and development services we provide. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services Overview
SiteHouse specializes in providing web design, development, and related digital services for local businesses in the UK. The specific details, deliverables, and scope of your project will be outlined in a separate proposal or invoice provided to you.
2. Free Website Concepts
We offer a "Free Website Concept" to demonstrate what we can build for your business with no upfront obligation. Please note the following regarding this service:
- The free concept is a visual mockup or draft created for demonstration purposes only.
- Intellectual Property: All designs, layouts, and concepts remain the exclusive intellectual property of SiteHouse until a formal agreement is signed and full payment is received.
- You may not copy, reproduce, or use the free concept (or pass it to another agency/developer) without our explicit written permission.
3. Pricing and Payments
All prices for our services will be clearly communicated before any work begins. Our standard payment terms are as follows:
- A non-refundable deposit (typically 50%) is required before the commencement of any development work.
- The remaining balance is due upon completion of the website, prior to it going live on your domain.
- We reserve the right to withhold the transfer of website files or domain access until all outstanding invoices are paid in full.
4. Client Responsibilities
To ensure your project is completed efficiently and on time, you agree to:
- Provide all necessary materials, including text, images, logos, and business information, in a timely manner.
- Review concepts and provide clear, constructive feedback within the agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that any content or media you provide to us does not infringe on the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party.
5. Revisions and Approvals
Your project includes a specific number of revision rounds, as outlined in your project proposal. Once a design or phase is formally approved by you, any subsequent changes or additional features outside the original scope may incur additional hourly charges.
6. Domains, Hosting, and Third-Party Services
If your package includes domain registration or hosting, these services are subject to annual renewal fees. We will notify you prior to the renewal date. If you fail to renew, your website may go offline. SiteHouse is not responsible for any downtime caused by third-party hosting providers, expired domains, or external software failures.
7. Intellectual Property
Upon final payment, the copyright for the visual design and content of the finished website is transferred to you. However, we retain the right to showcase the completed website in our portfolio, case studies, and marketing materials unless a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is in place.
8. Limitation of Liability
SiteHouse provides its services on an "as is" basis. While we strive to build high-quality, SEO-friendly websites, we cannot guarantee specific search engine rankings, uninterrupted website uptime, or specific business results (such as sales or inquiries). Under no circumstances shall SiteHouse be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from the use of our services.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
